Avengers: Doomsday Directors Post Official Tease Featuring Countdown Clock, Exactly 1 Year From Marvel Blockbuster's Launch

Author : Andrew Mar 30,2026
The Russo brothers, directors of Avengers: Doomsday, have shared a new teaser for their upcoming Marvel epic—exactly one year ahead of its theatrical release—and it features a countdown clock that’s already been spotted in the movie’s reportedly leaked first trailer.

The 10-second clip, shared on the Russo brothers’ Instagram, begins with a clapperboard for Avengers: Doomsday, then transitions to a countdown clock that starts from 12 months, tracking down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the film’s debut.

If the ticking clock feels familiar, that’s because it’s the same animation that’s been circulating online all week, appearing at the end of the leaked first trailer—confirming the return of a major Marvel character who had previously been kept largely hidden.

While Marvel has not officially verified the authenticity of the leaked trailer, evidence strongly suggests it’s real. Not only does it match the exact countdown from the Russo brothers’ post, but the trailer has been repeatedly taken down from social media due to copyright claims—further supporting its legitimacy.

As reported by IGN earlier today, some fans claim to have already seen the full Avengers: Doomsday trailer in theaters, attached to early screenings of Disney’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. Others, however, remain disappointed after not catching it—suggesting the rollout has been inconsistent.

Over the past 12 hours, fresh snippets of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer have emerged on social media, seemingly filmed in packed movie theaters. In each case, the clips were swiftly removed via copyright claims—adding more credibility to their authenticity.

A previously confirmed plan to release four distinct Avengers: Doomsday trailers during the first four weeks of Avatar: Fire and Ash’s theatrical run has also been verified by The Hollywood Reporter, helping to build anticipation. It remains unclear whether any of these trailers will be made publicly available, or if they’ll stay exclusive to theaters to drive attendance for Avatar.

To date, Marvel has only officially released the iconic cast reveal “chair” video, showcasing the film’s massive ensemble—including surviving Avengers, the Thunderbolts (aka The New Avengers), the Fantastic Four, and several key figures from the Fox-era X-Men. A few production photos have surfaced during filming, sparking widespread fan speculation about the movie’s direction. But much of the story remains officially undisclosed. The clock is already running...
