Treyarch Unveils New Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Content for 115 Day

Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th celebration brings a comprehensive blog detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.

The star of the show is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows closely on the heels of Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another thrilling location to the Zombies universe.

The narrative continues as Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya investigate Gabriel Krafft's final clues, leading them to an excavation site housing the Sentinel Artifact. The Tomb, situated on ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., promises a captivating storyline with connections to the enigmatic British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe.

Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a similar experience to Liberty Falls, featuring compact play areas designed for high replayability and numerous Easter eggs. Treyarch also teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon drawing inspiration from past titles and the return of a classic SMG.

Season 2 also brings a host of quality-of-life improvements, including community-requested features such as tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. A co-op pause option for Zombies is added, along with the ability for players to rejoin matches with their loadouts after disconnections. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will also be implemented.

To commemorate 115 Day, players can enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double XP for players, weapons, and battle passes until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared impressive statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played. The mode's success has more than doubled the average Main Quest completion rate, showcasing its positive impact on player engagement.

The upcoming release of The Tomb will also feature the voices of the Zombies characters, following Activision's recent announcement regarding recasting some roles due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
