During this eagerly anticipated live stream, Gearbox Software developers will delve deep into the world of the upcoming FPS sequel. The PlayStation.blog post from April 29 teases that the State of Play will feature over 20 minutes of "developer-guided gameplay," showcasing missions, killer weapons, thrilling Action Skills, and a mix of new and returning characters that fans have come to love.

Launch Date Moved to September 12

In a thrilling twist following the State of Play announcement, Gearbox Entertainment CEO Randy Pitchford took to Twitter (X) on April 29 to reveal that Borderlands 4's launch date has been moved up to September 12. Although he quickly deleted the initial video and reposted, the message was clear: development is going exceptionally well, and "everything’s going kinda the best scenario," prompting the decision to bring the game to fans earlier than planned. Originally set for a September 23 release as announced during PlayStation's February State of Play, Borderlands 4's official Twitter (X) account confirmed the new date, stating, "After careful consideration–along with A LOT of meetings, playtestings, and incredible development work–we have made the monumental decision to MOVE UP THE LAUNCH DATE OF BORDERLANDS 4 to SEPTEMBER 12."
