Mastering Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars: A Guide to His Unique Abilities and Optimal Game Modes

Brawl Stars' newest addition, Buzz Lightyear, is a limited-time brawler available until February 4th. This guide will help you unlock and effectively utilize his unique three-mode combat system to dominate the battlefield.

How to Play Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear is a free unlock from the in-game shop, arriving at Power Level 11 with his Gadget already unlocked. He lacks Star Powers and Gears, but his Turbo Boosters Gadget allows for quick dashes, ideal for closing in on enemies or escaping danger. His Bravado Hypercharge temporarily boosts his stats. These are consistent across all three modes.

Buzz's three combat modes offer diverse gameplay:

Mode Image Stats Attack Super
Laser Mode Health: 6000, Movement Speed: Normal, Range: Long, Reload Speed: Fast 2160 5 x 1000
Saber Mode Health: 8400, Movement Speed: Very Fast, Range: Short, Reload Speed: Normal 2400 1920
Wing Mode Health: 7200, Movement Speed: Very Fast, Range: Normal, Reload Speed: Normal 2 x 2000 -

Laser Mode excels at long-range combat with a burn effect. Saber Mode thrives in close quarters, utilizing a Bibi-like attack and gaining Super charge from damage taken. Wing Mode is a balanced hybrid, best used at closer ranges.

Which Game Mode Suits Buzz Lightyear Best?

Buzz's versatility makes him effective in various modes. Saber Mode shines in close-quarters maps (Showdown, Gem Grab, Brawl Ball), particularly against Throwers due to his Super's targeted landing. Laser Mode dominates open maps (Knockout, Bounty), using its burn effect to hinder enemy healing. He's unavailable in Ranked Mode.
