Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Confirmation Emails Sent, Scams Emerge

Elden Ring Nightreign Scalpers and Scammers Already on the Loose

FromSoftware has begun sending confirmation emails for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Let's delve into the details of the test and the unfortunately concurrent scams targeting eager players.

FromSoftware's Confirmation Emails

On January 30th, 2025, FromSoftware announced via Twitter (X) that confirmation emails were dispatched to those selected for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Excited fans quickly shared their confirmations, expressing their anticipation and gratitude.

A follow-up email, containing a unique download code for the test client (available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S), will be sent on February 11th, 2025. The initial registration period ran from January 10th to January 20th, 2025. Unfortunately, FromSoftware hasn't indicated whether additional test opportunities will be offered.

The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test

FromSoftware describes the network test as a preliminary verification to assess online systems via large-scale network load tests, ensuring server capacity for a multitude of players. The test runs from February 14th to 16th, 2025, offering five 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1: February 14th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
  • Session 2: February 14th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT
  • Session 3: February 15th, 11 AM - 2 PM PT
  • Session 4: February 16th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
  • Session 5: February 16th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT

Beware of Scams and Scalpers

Reports indicate a concerning scam circulating on Steam. Players are receiving fraudulent invites for the network test; clicking these redirects users to malicious sites, potentially compromising accounts and spreading the scam via mass friend list messaging. FromSoftware emphasizes that official communication regarding the test originates solely from their website and social media channels.

Adding to the issue, scalpers are already attempting to profit from the limited access. Despite codes not being available until February 11th, numerous listings on online marketplaces are advertising "confirmed test codes" for exorbitant prices, ranging from $150 to $200, with some even auctioned.
