Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic, initially titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, has been rebranded as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and is expanding its reach to the Nintendo Switch.
This updated edition will soon launch on various platforms, including Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis reads:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, surrounded by chaos. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots prowl the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a malevolent AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, immersing yourself in its richly detailed atmosphere and unraveling the horrifying fate of the ship and its crew, deck by deck.
Nightdive Studios has confirmed that a release date and a new trailer will be unveiled during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
