Epic Games Store Mobile Gets a Massive Upgrade

The Epic Games Store mobile app is undergoing a significant transformation. This update introduces nearly 20 new third-party games and, importantly, brings the popular free games program to Android globally and iOS within the European Union.

This expansion includes the addition of approximately 20 third-party titles, alongside the much-anticipated free games program. This month's free offering is Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, available until February 20th, followed by Bloons TD6.

A key feature of this update is improved cross-platform integration. Users can now access their Epic accounts seamlessly across Android and iOS devices, with a new auto-update function ensuring their game library remains current.

A Strategic Move

Epic Games' commitment to its mobile storefront is evident. While the PC version has faced challenges competing with Steam, the free games initiative on mobile is a compelling strategy. This approach also aligns with Epic's stated goal of supporting developers through its revenue-sharing model, a key point in its ongoing dispute with Apple.
