Exciting new details have emerged about Disneyland Paris' upcoming Lion King attraction, including fresh concept images and confirmation that construction will commence in Fall 2025.
According to Disney Parks Blog, this first-ever Lion King themed land and water ride will become a centerpiece of the transformed Walt Disney Studios Park (rebranded as Disney Adventure World). The attraction will immerse guests in pivotal moments from the 1994 animated classic, featuring a towering 120-foot Pride Rock and extensive themed areas for dining, shopping, and character interactions.
New Ride Details Revealed
The newly released concept art (shown above) previews one scene from the attraction, showcasing highly detailed Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying their jungle feast. The ride will also include an exhilarating 52-foot drop - slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While an exact opening date remains unconfirmed, the attraction will debut after World of Frozen's 2026 premiere. As part of the massive Disney Adventure World expansion, The Lion King land will help double the current park's size.
Expansion Highlights
Alongside The Lion King and previously announced Rapunzel attraction (featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role), guests can anticipate the first-ever Up-themed ride - a spinning carousel offering panoramic park views.
The May 15, 2025 opening of Disney Adventure World will introduce the spectacular World Premiere entrance and Plaza, designed to evoke Hollywood premieres and featuring Broadway-inspired theaters hosting Disney musical productions.
