Kardboard Kings: Card Shop Simulator Debuts on Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Originally launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. Best of all, it's free for Crunchyroll members!

The Kardboard Kings Experience:

Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop – a legacy steeped in the legendary card game, Warlock. Harry's unlikely business partner? Giuseppe, a quick-witted cockatoo with an uncanny ability to spot a great deal.

Set in a charming seaside location, Harry must navigate the complexities of customer satisfaction (or, if inclined, cleverly exploit them for profit!). The game boasts charming characters, witty dialogue, and nods to other card games and anime. Over 100 uniquely designed cards, complete with quirky illustrations and shiny variants, await discovery.

Gameplay Mechanics:

The core gameplay revolves around the classic "buy low, sell high" principle. However, as you progress, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate, adding layers of strategic depth. Factors like foil finishes and card popularity significantly impact value.

Kardboard Kings also includes a roguelite deck-building mode on Card Game Island, where you'll face formidable duelists. Expand your business acumen by hosting tournaments, throwing booster pack parties, or staging clearance sales to manage inventory.

Download Kardboard Kings now from the Google Play Store if you're a Crunchyroll subscriber. Don't miss our other article on the linguistic puzzles in LOK Digital!
