Hulu and Disney+ have set an August 4 release date for the King of the Hill revival series from Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, alongside a first look at its refreshed time-lapse opening sequence.
The official X/Twitter account unveiled the news today, sharing what seems to be the full opening credits for the first new King of the Hill episodes since 2010. As the clip reveals, time has moved on not just for the audience, but for Hank, Peggy, and Bobby too—the Texas family appears to have moved away and later returned to Arlen.
Better than an Alamo and almost as good as propane. An all new season of #KingOfTheHill drops Aug 4th on Hulu and with #HuluOnDisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/U8wAkHHg7E

According to an official Hulu description, "After years of working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement fund, Hank and Peggy Hill come back to a transformed Arlen, Texas, reconnecting with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is pursuing his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his twenties alongside former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane."
While the updated opening hints at an older Bobby and Dale Gribble's mayoral campaign, specific storylines for Judge and Daniels' comedy revival remain under wraps. Early news about Hank Hill's potential return was first reported by THR in 2022. Hulu later acquired streaming rights in 2023 for what would become Season 14. That same year, it was confirmed the series would resume after a major time jump, honoring the show's iconic time-lapse intro.

Most of the original voice cast is back for the Hulu revival, including Mike Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive. Johnny Hardwick, the voice of Dale Gribble, passed away in August 2023 at age 64, but recorded some dialogue for the new season before his death.
King of the Hill returns to Arlen's iconic picket fence this August. In the meantime, take a look at another early glimpse of an older Bobby that was shared late last year.
