Konami has celebrated the resounding success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has now surpassed the impressive milestone of 2 million sales. Developed by Bloober Team, the game was released on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on October 8, 2024. There has been no announcement yet regarding a version for Xbox Series X and S. Just days after its launch, the game achieved a remarkable feat by selling 1 million copies, potentially making it the fastest-selling title in the Silent Hill series, though Konami has yet to officially confirm this record.

"Since its release, Silent Hill 2 has garnered a plethora of accolades, including numerous 'perfect' review scores and multiple awards and nominations, solidifying its status as a timeless classic in the horror video game genre," Konami stated.

IGN's review of the Silent Hill 2 remake awarded it an 8/10, praising it as "a great way to visit – or revisit – one of the most dread-inducing destinations in the history of survival horror."
