LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

Author : Benjamin May 04,2025

LEGO has announced the launch of nine new Star Wars sets, set to hit the shelves on May 1, 2025. These releases are part of Disney's extensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day. LEGO traditionally marks this occasion with the release of an Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, fans were treated to Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, and in 2024, the TIE Interceptor took center stage.

This year, the spotlight is on Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, which fans might better recognize as Slave I (available on the LEGO Store). The name was officially changed to Firespray Starship in 2021 at Disney's request, a decision LEGO has confirmed. This change, motivated by the desire to distance the brand from 'slave' imagery, appears to be permanent.

The last major release of this starship was in 2019, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a 1007-piece set inspired by its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new iteration, featuring 2970 pieces, represents the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. This set is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
