Marvel Snap and Other Apps Go Offline in US

Marvel Snap has been banned in the US, and this news comes hand in hand with the ban of the popular app TikTok in the country. These two events are indeed connected, and here's why you should keep reading to understand the full story.

Why the Ban on Marvel Snap in the US?

In addition to Marvel Snap, other apps like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and CapCut have also been taken offline in the US. All these applications are owned by ByteDance, the same company behind TikTok, which has been at the center of discussions among US lawmakers recently.

ByteDance is currently facing scrutiny over national security and data privacy issues. In an effort to mitigate a broader crackdown, the company has chosen to pull these apps from the US market preemptively.

There is optimism, however, that TikTok might return to the US, even if temporarily. If TikTok manages to make a comeback, there's a chance that other ByteDance-owned games and apps could follow suit and reappear in US app stores.

The US represents a significant portion of the player base and revenue for these Chinese-owned gaming companies. A complete ban on their games and apps could have serious financial implications for ByteDance.

It remains to be seen whether the ban on Marvel Snap in the US will be lifted. Until more information comes to light, we can only hope for the best. For those of you outside the US, you can continue enjoying the game. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
