Marvel Teases Swimsuit Skins for Rivals in Summer Comic Special

Author : Alexis May 14,2025

Marvel is gearing up for another exciting release with the upcoming Marvel Swimsuit Special comic book, and fans of NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals have reason to celebrate as well. A recent post on the Marvel website has teased that this summer, Marvel will return with Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes, and Rivals #1 on July 9. This issue promises a much-needed respite for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but more intriguingly, it hints at a sneak peek into potential Marvel Rivals swimsuit cosmetics.

The description for the Marvel Swimsuit Special reads, “Roxxon Comics is at it again when they release their own UNAUTHORIZED SWIMSUIT SPECIAL. Wasp is on the case and seizes the opportunity for Marvel’s heroes to do their OWN swimwear fashion shoot all over the world! But fear not, True Believers, we know what you’re REALLY here for! This super-sized special features splash page after splash page of gorgeous art, but with a story so you can pretend you’re ‘reading it for the articles…’”

While Marvel remains tight-lipped about the exact launch date for these summer designs and which characters will be featured, the connection to Marvel Rivals is tantalizing. The special's focus on swimwear suggests that we might see summer-themed cosmetics in the game. As more details emerge in the coming months, fans can look forward to learning how this ties into Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals burst onto the scene in December, quickly captivating multiplayer enthusiasts on PC and consoles. With its competitive edge and extensive character roster, players have been eager to climb the ranks. Amidst the focus on gameplay and performance, the community has been buzzing with anticipation for post-launch content, particularly the possibility of a Marvel Rivals swimsuit collection. It appears that their wishes are on the verge of being fulfilled.

As for the potential launch timing of these swimsuits, there are a few indicators to consider. Marvel Rivals Season 2 recently introduced Emma Frost and the Hellfire Gala, and with the season set to conclude in approximately three months, it's reasonable to speculate that the new swimwear outfits could debut with Season 3, likely around July or August. This aligns well with NetEase's planned schedule and gives fans a chance to enjoy the summer-themed skins before the season ends.

Alongside Season 3, NetEase is rolling out new post-launch plans, shifting to shorter, two-month seasons. This change means players can expect a new playable hero every month moving forward.
