Monster Hunter Now Unveils Sea of Monsters Event With New Elder Dragon Encounter

Niantic has revealed exciting details about Monster Hunter Now's upcoming Sea of Monsters event, part of Summer Hunt 2025. Players will face the powerful Elder Dragon Namielle, making its debut appearance in the mobile game.

Namielle: A Unique Aquatic Threat

This spectacular creature coats itself in water while channeling electricity, creating devastating explosive attacks that can overwhelm unprepared hunters. With its specialized electricity-generating organ, Namielle presents a formidable challenge requiring knowledge of its key weaknesses: fire, poison, and blast elements.

The special event runs from July 26-27, featuring Elder Dragon Interceptions and intense Hunt-a-thons starring Namielle. Purchasing an event ticket unlocks exclusive benefits including instant rematches after hunts and access to special Namielle Interceptions without cooldown periods.

Dedicated hunters who obtain tickets will also receive exclusive layered armor featuring Namielle's distinctive aquatic design.

Summer Hunt 2025: Seaside Vacation Event

Kicking off on July 21st before Namielle's arrival, this seasonal event lets players craft special weapons and armor with enhanced stats and bonus abilities to prepare for upcoming battles.

Arm Yourself With Powerful Water Weapons

The event's standout feature is a new arsenal of water-element weapons crafted from Namielle materials. Available weapon types include:

  • Sword & Shield
  • Long Sword
  • Hunting Horn
  • Lance
  • Gunlance
  • Switch Axe
  • Charge Blade
  • Light Bowgun
  • Heavy Bowgun
  • Bow

Completing the set is the Tentacle armor, which comes equipped with the signature Namielle Electrowave skill - reducing thunder damage while enhancing your weapon's water elemental properties.
