NBA 2K25 Releases First 2025 Update

NBA 2K25's significant January update paves the way for Season 4 (launching January 10th), delivering substantial gameplay enhancements and visual improvements. This patch addresses numerous bugs and refines various game modes.

Key improvements include enhanced player likenesses (e.g., Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid), updated court visuals (including the Los Angeles Clippers court and Emirates NBA Cup court), and corrected uniform sponsor patches for several teams. The update also resolves a rare online hang and leaderboard ranking issues.

Patch 4.0: Gameplay Refinements

Gameplay receives a boost with more realistic physics and refined control. "Light Pressure" shot defense is now tiered (Weak, Moderate, Strong) for more precise shot feedback. Ball-rim interaction is adjusted to reduce overly long rebounds. Defensive mechanics are tweaked to prevent unfair skill dunk interruptions, and the Offensive 3 Seconds rule is added to 1v1 modes. City and Pro-Am modes see performance and stability upgrades.

Mode-Specific Enhancements:

  • MyCAREER: Progression fixes ensure proper badge unlocks and prevent skipped NBA Cup games.
  • MyTEAM: Visual updates to player cards and menus, along with fixes for saving Favorite Plays and challenge progression blockers.
