Square Enix marked the 15th Anniversary of NieR with a host of announcements, showcasing upcoming events and projects. During the livestream on April 19, they introduced an online Special Novel titled [U]ndecided Option.

The novel will feature three updates, with the first already available. The subsequent updates will be released on April 25 and May 2. A brief synopsis describes the story as follows: “Such a 'servant' meets a mysterious boy with a mysterious air and is guided.”

In addition to this, Square Enix launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, serving as the main hub for the online novel and other anniversary-related projects and events.

Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More

Square Enix is set to host an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, featuring new artwork of the protagonists from Replicant, Automata, and Re[in]carnation. Details on tickets and other specifics will be shared soon.

Further, additional dates have been announced for the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024, with performances scheduled in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are available through a lottery system, and more information can be found on the concert's official website.

Starting April 28, the NieR series' first mobile title, NieR Re[in]carnation, will launch a developer blog series. Monthly updates will be released throughout the year, offering insights into the creation process of Re[in]carnation.

Originally launched in January 2021, the game was discontinued in April 2024 due to monetization challenges. The announcement of a developer blog for a closed game has sparked speculation among fans about a possible sequel or remake, though no official statements have confirmed this.

The livestream concluded with an over 20-minute live performance, featuring soundtracks from the NieR franchise. Square Enix has promised more exciting events and merchandise announcements for NieR fans in the near future.
