Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Nostalgic Nintendo Console Event

Pikmin Bloom is about to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops with a nostalgic twist. Kicking off on May 1st, 2025, this special event brings back beloved themes and introduces fresh in-game content that pays homage to Nintendo’s rich history.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has treated players to creative and fun decorations, from Mahjong Tile Pikmin to Playing Card-inspired designs. This time around, the game dives even deeper into Nintendo nostalgia by introducing classic gaming console-themed decor.

A standout addition is the Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin, which serves as a tribute to Nintendo’s origins in the playing card industry before they became a gaming giant. The design of these cards is inspired by Nintendo’s vintage decks, adding a touch of retro charm to your collection.

The anniversary event runs throughout May 2025—from May 1st to May 31st—giving players an entire month to enjoy limited-time missions and unlock exclusive Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions rewards you with random drops such as Game Button Cells, seedlings for Nintendo Consoles ‘80–‘95 Decor Pikmin, and colorful flower petals.

Keep an eye out for Brilliant Mushrooms during the event—they appear more frequently and can be smashed for Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, petals, and other useful items. For maximum efficiency, use Nintendo Consoles ‘80–‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin to take down these mushrooms faster.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

This month also ushers in a floral update that allows certain flowers to bloom into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses when surrounded by red, yellow, white, or blue petals.

Additionally, fruit obtained from mushrooms during May now gives nectar applicable to both regular and special flowers, including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses—making flower growth more rewarding than ever.

There's plenty more happening in the game this month, including Community Day events where you can collect rare items and connect with fellow players. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and jump into the festivities as the 3.5th anniversary kicks off.
