Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, Fidough Fetch, and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Following these events, the Eggs-pedition Access arrives in January as part of the Dual Destiny season, running the entire month for $4.99. This paid access unlocks numerous bonuses to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures. The in-game gifting system also receives a boost, allowing for increased storage and daily gifting limits.

New Year's 2025 Event Details:

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there are no new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with ribbon), Hoothoot (New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks. Raids will feature Pikachu (snowflake beanie) in Tier One raids, and Raticate and Wobbuffet (party hats) in Tier Three raids, both with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.

Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and join the New Year's celebration! Afterwards, check out our coverage of Night Crimson, Sword of Convallaria's latest update.
