Pokemon TCG Pocket Unveils Shining Revelry, Hints at Ranked Matches

Author : Andrew May 02,2025

The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket has brought a dazzling array of new content to the game, including more than 110 new cards and the introduction of shiny variants. Named "Shining Revelry," this expansion introduces sparkling new cards, many of which feature Pokémon from the Paldea region. The excitement of pulling these shiny cards has many players, including myself, eager to spend their Pack Hourglasses on 10-pack pulls. In my case, I was fortunate enough to pull a Charizard EX, though the rest of my haul was less thrilling.

One silver lining was drawing the Pokémon Center Lady card, which can heal Special Conditions—a crucial advantage when facing opponents who rely on inflicting status ailments like Burn.

Alongside the new cards, the update also introduces an Emblem event, similar to those in previous expansions. This time, you can earn new badges to show off to your friends. Additionally, the eagerly awaited Ranked Matches are now on the horizon, allowing you to compete against other Trainers as you ascend from Beginner to Master Ball Rank. Your performance will be tracked with points, and at the end of the approximately one-month season, you'll receive an emblem based on your achievements.

This development is prompting me to dust off my dueling skills and start crafting competitive decks in earnest.

If you're keen to dive into the action, Pokémon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available.
