Nintendo has unveiled Pokémon Pokopia, a captivating life simulation spin-off where you gather resources and craft furniture to transform your surroundings. Does that ring a bell?
Much like Animal Crossing, Pokopia promises a laid-back adventure. You'll progressively learn and apply Pokémon abilities to build a cozy haven for yourself and your Pokémon companions.
You play as a human-shaped Ditto, slowly acquiring the skills of other Pokémon. For instance, learning from the Grass-type Bulbasaur allows you to cultivate plants, while the Water-type Squirtle teaches you how to water them. You can reshape the land by learning to punch from Hitmonchan or construct wooden frameworks by mastering techniques from Timburr.
The full scope of the game world remains to be seen, but the debut trailer showcases using Scyther's slashes to clear vegetation and Drilbur's digging skills to alter a waterfall's course. A Diglett also seems to be tending a vegetable patch.
Later glimpses reveal a beach area and the interior of a more furnished home, alongside hints of a day-and-night cycle.
Today was packed with major announcements spanning Mario, Pokémon, Yoshi, and Fire Emblem. For the complete rundown, explore all the reveals from the Nintendo Direct September 2025.
