Scalpers quickly listed these ETBs on platforms like eBay, with prices soaring to several hundred dollars for what typically costs $54.99. Joe Merrick of Serebii expressed his frustration, highlighting the shift towards treating Pokémon TCG as a financial investment rather than a hobby.

This situation mirrors past releases like Prismatic Evolutions and the Blooming Waters 151 box, which also faced shortages. The Pokémon Company has announced that more inventory of the Destined Rivals ETB will be available later this year, according to a FAQ posted on PokéBeach. However, some buyers are also reporting cancellations of their ETB orders, adding to the frustration.
