GTA 6 Trailer 2 Shatters Records as Biggest Video Launch Ever
Rockstar Games has officially declared GTA 6 Trailer 2 the most-watched video launch in history. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer amassed a staggering 475 million views across all platforms within its first 24 hours, surpassing all major movie trailers, including Deadpool & Wolverine (365 million) and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (200 million). Even DC and Warner Bros.' record-breaking Superman trailer, which reached 250 million views, pales in comparison to GTA 6's monumental debut.
Notably, GTA 6's first trailer, which premiered exclusively on YouTube with 93 million first-day views, once held the title of the biggest non-music video launch. As of May 8, Trailer 2 has accumulated 85,276,196 views on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel alone.
IGN previously reported how The Pointer Sisters' Hot Together experienced a massive resurgence following its inclusion in GTA 6 Trailer 2, with global Spotify streams surging by an astonishing 182,000% within just two hours of the trailer's release.
"Grand Theft Auto transcends pop culture like few other franchises," said Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong. "Music has been core to the series since its inception, and it’s incredible to see fans—both longtime and new—embrace such an iconic track."
GTA 6 Trailer 2 arrived after Rockstar announced the game’s high-profile delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. The title is poised to become the most lucrative entertainment launch ever, setting revenue benchmarks not just in gaming, but across all media.
