Sonic Rumble is generating buzz even before its global launch, already featuring a thrilling crossover event dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is live from now until May 7th, right before the game's worldwide rollout on May 8th.
Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It underwent two pre-launch phases: the first in Summer 2024 in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, and the second in areas including Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.
What’s in Store?
If you're located in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. Start with a nostalgic nod to Altered Beast, where you can unlock the Werewolf transformation for free. Craving more beastly fun? The Werebear and Weredragon are also on offer, with the Weredragon exclusively part of the Premium Pass and the Werebear possibly obtainable with regular rings.
The crossover also brings in the charm of Fantasy Zone with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa. Opa-Opa is available through the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa can be acquired with fragments purchased using standard rings, priced at 700 rings each.
Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee have joined the party as well. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a sneak peek at the crossover event, check out the video below:
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, you can collect SEGA logos in matches to earn additional rewards. While it might seem unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has assured that most of these pre-release rewards will return post-launch.
This inaugural crossover event showcases a delightful blend of SEGA's past and present, merging monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed warriors with Sonic and his crew, setting a promising tone for Sonic Rumble.
You can download the game from the Google Play Store if it's available in your region, or mark your calendar for the global launch on May 8th.
