Sonos Arc Soundbar Discontinued: Last Chance to Save $300

Author : Layla Jun 18,2025

Sonos rarely offers discounts on its highly-regarded speakers, making it a smart move to take advantage of quality deals when they arise. At this moment, Amazon and Walmart are providing a significant discount on one of Sonos’ top-tier soundbars — the Arc — now available for $599 after a substantial $300 instant discount. It seems the original Arc has been phased out and succeeded by the newer Arc Ultra. The older model is currently unavailable on Sonos' official site and likely won’t return except possibly through their Refurbished store.

Before being replaced by the Arc Ultra, the Sonos Arc served as the brand’s flagship soundbar. This premium 45-inch soundbar features eleven precision-tuned internal speakers—three tweeters and eight midwoofers—delivering immersive audio performance. Designed with Dolby Atmos in mind, it includes two dedicated height channels for an elevated listening experience.

The Arc integrates seamlessly with other Sonos products thanks to intuitive app-guided setup, making it ideal for users who want high-quality sound without the complexity of traditional home theater systems. Additional features include an ambient light sensor, HDMI eARC connectivity, capacitive touch controls, and dual-band Wi-Fi support. A built-in microphone enables voice command functionality, adding further convenience.

Is the New Arc Ultra Worth the Upgrade?

While the Arc Ultra maintains a similar aesthetic and nearly identical dimensions (just 1.5" wider, 0.4" shorter, and 0.4" shallower), its internal components have seen a major overhaul. The upgraded model boasts fourteen drivers, including seven tweeters, six midwoofers, and a new Sound Motion four-motor dual-membrane woofer that enhances bass depth and clarity.

This next-gen soundbar also excels in dialogue separation and vocal clarity, offering a more refined audio experience during movies and shows. One notable addition is Bluetooth connectivity—an omission many found puzzling on the original Arc.

Sonos Arc Ultra Review by Nick Woodard

"With the Arc Ultra, Sonos took an already industry-leading soundbar and made it significantly better across multiple areas. It delivers richer, fuller bass and improved spatial imaging thanks to its expanded driver array. Features like Bluetooth and Android Trueplay support bring modern-day flexibility that rounds out the package nicely. While there are still a few minor drawbacks, especially regarding recent software missteps from Sonos, the Arc Ultra stands as a testament to the company's ability to craft top-tier wireless audio solutions."
