Squid Game: Unleashed is getting a major content update to coincide with the release of season two of the hit Netflix show. New characters, a new map, and exciting challenges are on the way, along with exclusive rewards for viewers of the new season!

Netflix's surprising decision to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, prior to the holidays, has been followed up with this enticing update designed to attract new players and reward existing ones.

Here's what players can expect starting January 3rd:

  • New Map: A map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game season two.
  • New Characters: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos will be available as playable avatars throughout January. Geum-Ja and Thanos will have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively to unlock them.
  • Rewards for Viewers: Watching episodes of Squid Game season two unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

January's In-Game Events:

  • January 3rd - 9th: Geum-Ja's Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event. Complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
  • January 9th - 14th: Thanos' Red Light Challenge. Eliminate players using knives to unlock Thanos.
  • January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.

Squid Game: Unleashed's free-to-play model and the added incentive of rewarding Netflix subscribers who watch the show represents a significant strategic move for Netflix in the gaming space. It's a clever way to promote both the game and the show, creating a synergistic relationship between the two.
