If you're a fan of mobile gaming, you'll be thrilled to hear that Monopoly Go is diving into the world of science fiction with a special collaboration with Star Wars. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this exciting partnership will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from the iconic Skywalker Saga and the beloved series, The Mandalorian.

During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players can expect to see some of their favorite Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon versions. The event introduces a Star Wars Go sticker album for you to complete, thrilling podracing events at the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and a range of collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the delight of seeing Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with the iconic Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into crossover territory. Last September, the game featured a Marvel-themed event where Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers joined the Monopoly universe.

In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now through a deal with Niantic.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go topped the charts for consumer spending in 2024, raking in an impressive $2.47 billion. This success has also led to 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users for the game in 2024, showcasing its massive popularity and engagement.
