"Switch 2 Zelda Ports: Repair Equipment Using Zelda Notes App"

Author : Eleanor May 05,2025

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 versions of *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* are set to introduce some exciting upgrades, including a feature that allows players to repair their equipment. This feature was spotted in a recent Nintendo Treehouse Live stream by YouTuber Zeltik, who noticed it within the Zelda Notes app—a mobile companion exclusively designed for these Switch 2 versions.

The Zelda Notes app includes a Daily Bonus feature that lets users roll for various in-game perks, such as helpful meal effects, health and stamina recovery, and crucially, Equipment Repairs. This is particularly noteworthy because both *Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* feature durability meters for weapons, shields, and other items, a mechanic that has stirred some controversy among players. The ability to repair gear like a beloved Flameblade could be a game-changer for many.

However, it's important to note that this feature comes with a catch: randomness. The Daily Bonus operates on a roulette wheel, meaning players aren't guaranteed to receive an Equipment Repair every day. Additionally, the bonus is only available once per day, with a timer dictating when players can roll again. While this system can be a lifesaver in tight spots, it's not likely to revolutionize the gameplay experience entirely.

Beyond equipment repairs, the Zelda Notes app is packed with other intriguing features. Both Zelda titles will now include achievements through this mobile companion program, adding an extra layer of engagement. Moreover, special audio memories will enhance the lore and background of different parts of Hyrule, enriching the narrative experience.

These enhancements, combined with performance improvements, are poised to elevate the open-world experience in *The Legend of Zelda* games on the Nintendo Switch 2. They should be particularly welcome for fans who have been frustrated by the constant breaking of their favorite weapons.
