Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic will kick off the seventh and final phase of Season of Discovery on January 28. This exciting update will bring the Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event to the game. Following this, on February 6, guilds will have the opportunity to tackle the legendary Naxxramas raid, which promises new challenges for players.

Phase 7 of Season of Discovery comes just two months after Phase 6, which sent players back to Silithus to engage in the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. During these raids, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure in the desert ruins. While many speculated that this figure was Xal'atath, the main antagonist from World of Warcraft: The War Within, the NPC only made cryptic comments about the Old Gods. It's unclear if the Shadowy Figure will reappear in Phase 7.

Although Phase 7 marks the end of Season of Discovery, World of Warcraft Classic players can look forward to new challenges. The phase will go live on January 28 following server maintenance. Once servers are back online, players can explore the new Karazhan Crypts 5-player dungeon in Deadwind Pass, set beneath the iconic Karazhan tower, which later became a 10-player raid in The Burning Crusade. Additionally, the Scourge Invasions event will bring hordes of undead monsters to various zones and cities across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can participate in new Scourge Invasion quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands and collect Necrotic Runes from undead enemies to acquire new consumable items.
