Stardew Valley Switch Patch Update Announced

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is diligently working to resolve issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems.
  • The Nintendo Switch patch addressing these issues will be released "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have already been fixed on PC, console, and mobile platforms, but the Switch patch is still in development.

Stardew Valley’s developer, ConcernedApe, has taken to social media to announce that the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch patch addressing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues will be released soon. Since its launch in 2016, Stardew Valley has captivated players with its unique gameplay and charming pixel art style, becoming a beloved game thanks to its relaxing and immersive mechanics. ConcernedApe has been proactive in updating the game, not only adding new content but also addressing various bugs and issues reported by the community. In December, an update tackled a persistent issue, which is now nearing its release on the Switch.

ConcernedApe used Twitter to update players that the Stardew Valley patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop is “still coming.” Although a specific release date for the Switch hasn’t been provided, the developer assures players that the update will be rolled out as soon as possible. Following the release of update 1.6, which brought a wealth of new content to PC players in March, several issues emerged, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems. These were already resolved on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Around Christmas, ConcernedApe tweeted that the Switch patch was in development, and now, almost 20 days later, it seems to be close to release.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Stardew Valley’s update 1.6, released for PC in March, introduced exciting new features such as personalized NPC chats, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals and events, along with visual enhancements like waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map variants.

Despite resolving many gameplay issues, update 1.6 inadvertently introduced new problems on console and mobile versions released in November. Players quickly identified several game-breaking bugs, prompting an emergency patch for the mobile version on November 15, while fixes for other platforms continued to be developed.

The Stardew Valley community has expressed appreciation for ConcernedApe’s transparent communication and swift action in addressing player concerns. Although the patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop on Switch is not yet available, players can be confident that the developer is actively working to release it soon.
