Transform your device into a versatile portable display for your camera, gaming console, laptop, PC, or any other device equipped with an HDMI output, by utilizing an HDMI to USB C dongle, also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card. This is not to be confused with a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable. Additionally, cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes that feature USB streaming capabilities are fully supported.
Noir is designed to enhance your viewing experience through its support for UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming. Users have the flexibility to choose between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend, ensuring optimal performance tailored to their needs. The free version of Noir offers essential functionalities and a captivating user experience, albeit with ads outside the preview area. For an ad-free experience and access to advanced features, consider upgrading to the pro version, which also contributes to the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

FAQ
Why doesn't Noir recognize my device? Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the connected device not being a Video Capture Card. Additionally, if your device cannot supply enough power, a USB hub may be necessary to provide additional power.
Why is the preview so laggy? Laggy previews are often related to the USB version. For USB 3.0 capture cards, ensure both the USB data cable and the USB port on your device are USB 3.0. For USB 2.0, use the MJPEG video format and ensure it does not exceed 1080p30fps. Some cards support up to 1080p50fps.
Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect? This issue is typically due to system errors. The most straightforward solution is to restart your phone or tablet and attempt to reconnect.
Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected? This problem is frequently encountered with PS5 and PS4 users due to HDCP being enabled. Navigate to the PS console's settings: Settings -> System -> HDMI, and disable Enable HDCP. Note that PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Other devices might also enable HDCP during video playback, causing a black screen. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP restrictions, though this solution is not endorsed here; further research may be required.
Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported? Currently, capture cards on the market do not support ratios other than these. Noir's built-in Stretch feature can help adjust the ratio, but your capture card's EDID must support it, and you must set your laptop or PC's output resolution accordingly.
