Pocketpair Has No Official Announcement Yet

In a recent Game File interview, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe discussed the obstacles of adapting Palworld for Nintendo Switch and shared thoughts on the game's future. Although a Switch version hasn't been completely ruled out, Mizobe pointed to significant technical limitations. The team is exploring potential "new platforms" for Palworld, but Mizobe clarified that Pocketpair has no concrete plans to reveal at this time.
Despite the demanding PC specifications making a Switch port difficult, Mizobe expressed enthusiasm for expanding the game's availability. Earlier this month, he commented on the technical gap, stating, "Palworld’s PC requirements exceed the Switch’s capabilities, which complicates the porting process for technical reasons."
Mizobe hasn't confirmed whether Palworld might eventually release on PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile devices. In a Bloomberg interview earlier this year, he acknowledged that Pocketpair is discussing opportunities to bring the game to additional platforms. Mizobe also mentioned that the company is open to partnerships or acquisition proposals, though no buyout discussions have taken place with Microsoft.
Aiming for More Advanced Multiplayer Features Like Ark or Rust

Beyond platform considerations, Mizobe shared his vision for enhancing the game's multiplayer aspects. The upcoming arena mode, which he described as "experimental," is a step toward richer multiplayer engagement. "My ultimate goal is to implement a true PvP mode in Palworld," Mizobe explained. "I want to incorporate more elements from games like Ark or Rust."
Ark and Rust are well-known survival titles that feature demanding environments, complex resource systems, and extensive player interaction—including alliance and tribe mechanics. Both games blend PvE and PvP gameplay. In Ark, players face threats from prehistoric creatures and harsh weather conditions, while Rust challenges survivors with hazardous wildlife and radioactive areas.

Palworld, Pocketpair's creature-collecting survival shooter, has captured widespread attention since its debut. Players can capture Pals, utilize them for base construction and various tasks, and engage in intense survival battles.
The game enjoyed a spectacular launch, selling 15 million PC copies within the first month. It also attracted 10 million players on Xbox, where it's available through the Game Pass subscription. Palworld is preparing for a significant update with the free Sakurajima expansion, launching Thursday, which introduces a new island, the eagerly awaited PvP arena, and additional content.
