If you’re a fan of Alan Wake 2, you might already know that its availability on Steam has been a topic of interest among gamers. Recently, a Reddit user shared their experience of reaching out to Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney with a straightforward question: when would Alan Wake 2, developed by Remedy, be available on Steam? Unfortunately, the response was brief and clear—Sweeney stated that the game won’t be coming to Steam, offering no further explanation. As a result, the disappointed user has decided to explore other options, such as purchasing the game on Xbox instead.
Interestingly, Alan Wake 2 is somewhat of an exception among Epic Games Store exclusives since Epic not only published the game but also co-financed its development alongside Remedy. Despite this significant backing, Remedy reported that the game’s sales met their business expectations, and they expressed satisfaction with the partnership. However, it’s worth noting that even over a year after its release, Alan Wake 2 failed to turn a profit. Looking ahead, Remedy plans to self-publish future titles, ensuring they will be available on platforms like Steam.
