Bandai Namco to End PAC-MAN Mobile Service

Bandai Namco has made the tough decision to shut down PAC-MAN Mobile, coinciding ironically with the legendary icon's 45th anniversary celebration this year. Launched over a decade ago, this version of the game, originally known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, has been a beloved mobile experience for many fans.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases were discontinued as of April 1st, but players can continue enjoying the game until the final day. The community has voiced their disappointment, expressing a preference for an offline version which would allow them to keep playing while still generating some revenue for Bandai Namco.

PAC-MAN Mobile offered more than just the classic arcade experience. It included an 8-bit arcade mode, a Story Mode with numerous original mazes, and an Adventure Mode featuring limited-time themed events where players could unlock exclusive skins. The Tournament Mode added weekly maze challenges across three difficulty levels, and there were numerous skins available for PAC-MAN, the ghosts, the joystick, and more.

The Reason

The decision to shut down the game likely stems from ongoing issues and bugs that have accumulated over the years, diminishing the player experience. The initial excitement when it launched on Android, with players competing for high scores and leaderboard positions, has faded over time.

If you're eager to experience PAC-MAN Mobile one last time before its shutdown, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
