"Borderlands 4 Release Date Officially Announced"

Gearbox has exciting news for fans of the Borderlands series: the release date for Borderlands 4 has been officially confirmed. During the latest State of Play event, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced that fans can mark their calendars for September 23, 2025. To get everyone hyped up, Gearbox released a new trailer showcasing some of the innovative gameplay features set to debut in the game.

One of the standout features from the trailer is the introduction of a grappling hook, promising to add a new dimension to the gameplay. Of course, fans can expect the series' signature elements—outrageous guns, explosive action, and chaotic fun—to be well-represented in the new trailer.

To further celebrate the announcement, Gearbox revealed that a special Borderlands 4-themed State of Play will air this spring. This dedicated event will delve deeper into the game, showcasing new gameplay mechanics and, of course, an array of new firearms to get excited about.

While specific story details remain under wraps, the lead writer hinted that the previous game may have leaned too much on "toilet humor." It will be interesting to see if Borderlands 4 opts for a more mature narrative approach.
