Boss battles, Mechagodzilla and Kong: details on the Fortnite and Monsterverse collaboration

The highly anticipated Godzilla skin, slated for a January 17th Fortnite release, has had its details prematurely revealed via online leaks. Epic Games recently deployed an update containing the January 17th content, allowing data miners to uncover the specifics of the Monsterverse collaboration.

Beyond the standard Godzilla skin obtainable through the battle pass, players can acquire a bundle featuring Mechagodzilla and Kong from the in-game store. This bundle boasts unique jetpacks and pickaxes tailored to each skin.

A new boss event will also launch on January 17th. One player will transform into a gigantic Godzilla, wielding abilities like atomic breath. Players must collaborate to defeat this colossal foe, with the individual inflicting the most damage receiving a medallion granting a unique ability.

The Mechagodzilla and Kong bundle will be available in the Fortnite store at the usual time and includes:

  • Kong: 1500 V-bucks
  • Mechagodzilla: 1800 V-bucks
  • Two pickaxes (800 V-bucks each)
  • One emote (400 V-bucks)
  • Two wraps (500 V-bucks each)
  • Complete Bundle: 2800 V-bucks

Meanwhile, Fortnite's roster of guest appearances continues to expand. A potential collaboration with the vocaloid Hatsune Miku is hinted at through social media interactions. The Hatsune Miku account reported a missing backpack, to which the Fortnite Festival account responded affirmatively, suggesting possession of the item.

Beyond the standard Vocaloid skin, the collaboration appears to include a stylized pickaxe and a variation of the "Miku the Catgirl" skin, along with a virtual Hatsune Miku concert.
