Cookie Run Dev Delay: Version 5.6 Update Postponed

Cookie Run: Kingdom's Version 5.6 update, "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," is a mixed bag of new content. While it introduces exciting additions, a controversial new rarity has sparked significant backlash.

Version 5.6 follows Version 5.5, delivering a wave of fresh content including new cookies, story episodes, limited-time events, toppings, and treasures.

The Positives:

The update introduces Dragon Lord Dark Cacao Cookie, an Ancient+ Cookie with a Charge-type attack and frontline position. His Awakened King skill inflicts heavy damage and applies a CRIT Resist debuff. A special Nether-Gacha increases the odds of obtaining him.

Peach Blossom Cookie, a new Epic Support Cookie, joins the roster. Her Heavenly Fruit skill heals allies and provides DMG and Debuff Resist buffs.

A new World Exploration episode continues Dark Cacao Cookie's story in "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," featuring Yin and Yang battle stages.

The Negatives:

The introduction of the Ancient+ rarity, with a maximum 6-star promotion level, has proven highly controversial. This new, higher rarity adds an eleventh tier to the existing ten, prompting outrage from players who feel it's a cynical move to introduce stronger cookies rather than improving existing ones.

The Backlash:

The Korean Cookie Run community and major spending guilds threatened a boycott, leading developers to postpone the June 20th launch to reconsider the Ancient+ rarity. The developers' response to community feedback is a positive sign.

The future of the Ancient+ rarity remains uncertain, pending the developers' review. Stay tuned for further updates. What are your thoughts on this situation? Share your opinion in the comments. In other news, Hearthstone's July update, "Perils in Paradise," is on the horizon.
