Marvel Contest of Champions is rolling out a thrilling lineup of new content for April, featuring the much-anticipated addition of Spider-Woman. Alongside her, the game introduces another unique champion, setting the stage for exciting new gameplay dynamics.

The Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, known as Jessica Drew, has a compelling origin story. As a child, she suffered from a serious illness due to uranium exposure near her home. In a desperate attempt to save her, her father, a brilliant geneticist, conducted an experimental procedure, injecting her with a mixture of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects of the experiment but also emerged with extraordinary spider-like abilities, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. Players can unlock this new champion in Marvel Contest of Champions starting April 17th.

Before Spider-Woman's arrival, another champion will make their debut. Lumatrix, set to join the roster on April 9th, is a formidable assassin created by the Founders. Designed for infiltration and elimination, Lumatrix wields powerful light-based abilities, making him a dangerous opponent.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina gravely injured after an encounter with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom collaborates with the Fantastic Four as the Chronoserpent corruption spreads. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the fray, adding depth to the storyline.

A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and runs until May 7th. Black Widow takes the lead in investigating the enigmatic Eidols, enlisting the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties." Players must track down champions targeted by her bounty to claim valuable rewards.

The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback, challenging players to assemble their strongest Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
