Fortnite: Guide to All Oni Masks and Acquisition

Author : Noah Apr 16,2025

Fortnite Hunters kicks the action into overdrive with the arrival of an exciting roster of changes to the popular Battle Royale game. From a Battle Pass featuring skins inspired by Japanese Mythology to powerful weaponry and items, this season has plenty to offer. One of the most exciting additions, however, is the inclusion of Oni Masks.

Oni Masks are a unique item exclusive to Fortnite Hunters, each granting players a mystical ability tailored for offense or defense. These include the Fire Oni Mask and the Void Oni Mask, both designed to give players an edge and secure a Victory Royale. Here’s a look at every Oni Mask in Fortnite and how to get them.

Updated on January 14, 2025, by Nathan Round: The Oni Masks are powerful items, and while obtaining them often involves an element of luck, there are two guaranteed ways to acquire them. This guide has been updated to include how to get the Oni Masks from Daigo, as well as another reliable location that provides both Oni Masks for free, guaranteed every time.

All Oni Masks & How To Use Them

Void Oni Mask

The Void Oni Mask is currently a top pick in Fortnite, serving as an excellent mobility item for players to acquire. The mask allows players to throw a Void Tear using the Shoot Button and, once thrown, players can use the Aim Button while the mask is equipped to teleport to the Void Tear's location. The Epic Variant of the Void Oni Mask has 15 total uses and a cooldown of 5 seconds, whereas the Mythic Void Oni Mask boasts 50 total uses.

Fire Oni Mask

Unlike the Void Oni Mask, the Fire Oni Mask focuses more on dealing damage to opponents. To use it, players simply need to press the Fire Button to launch a guided flame projectile that deals 100 damage to any opponent it hits. Each projectile can also damage multiple opponents at once if enemies are grouped closely together. The Fire Oni Mask has 8 total uses, with a cooldown of 8 seconds. The Mythic variant, on the other hand, boasts 16 uses.

How To Get Oni Masks in Fortnite

Searching Elemental Chests

The best and most straightforward way of getting Oni Masks is through looting Elemental Chests. Elemental Chests offer players a guaranteed elemental item, which includes both Boons and Oni Masks. Both the Void and Fire Oni Mask can be acquired this way, but getting either one does require a little bit of luck. Elemental Chests can be found all around the Fortnite island, with named POIs yielding the best chance of finding one.

Defeating Demon Warriors

Oni Masks can also be acquired through defeating Demon Warriors. Demon Warriors can be found in designated locations, each marked by an Oni Mask icon on the map for players to find. While Demon Warriors do not always drop an Oni Mask, they can drop either a Void or Fire Oni Mask—depending on which one they are wielding. Demon Warriors can also drop Typhoon Blades upon being defeated, along with a Fire or Void Boon.

Searching Chests

Aside from beating bosses and looting Elemental Chests, Oni Masks can also be acquired by simply looting Chests. All Chests offer a chance to acquire both the Fire and Void Oni Mask at Epic Rarity. However, acquiring them this way requires the most luck.

Purchase From Daigon

While all the aforementioned methods only offer a chance of acquiring both Oni Masks, there are two guaranteed ways to get both items. The first is to purchase them from Daigo at Masked Meadows with Gold Bars. Both the Void and Fire Oni Mask can be purchased from Daigo. However, players will need to complete all stages of his Mask Expertise Quests to unlock the privilege of doing so.

Loot From Daigon's Hidden Workshop

For players looking to skip the hassle of completing quests, there’s another guaranteed way to obtain both masks. By heading to the Daigon's hidden workshop, found below the building on the north side of Masked Meadows, players can find a machine with both masks affixed to it. This machine can be looted like any regular chest, dropping both the Void and Fire Oni Masks for players to wield.

Defeating Bosses (Mythic Oni Masks Only)

If players are looking to claim the Mythic Oni Masks instead of the usual Epic variant, they will have to battle one of two bosses. The Mythic Void Oni Mask is dropped by Night Rose over at Demon's Dojo. The Mythic Fire Oni Mask, on the other hand, will require players to take on the roaming Shogun X at Shogun's Arena. Each Oni Mask functions identically to its Epic counterpart, only this time boasting more uses.
