Sucker Punch Productions will showcase an in-depth Ghost of Yōtei gameplay demonstration during next month's dedicated State of Play event.
A PlayStation Blog post published after today's June 2025 State of Play confirmed plans for displaying enhanced features from this much-anticipated samurai sequel. While Ghost of Tsushima's successor made only a brief appearance toward the end of today's presentation, it primarily served as confirmation that Sucker Punch remains focused on meeting its October launch window.
While Ghost of Yōtei's fleeting appearance today might have left fans wanting more, July's scheduled State of Play promises substantial revelations to bridge the wait. Though Sucker Punch hasn't announced an exact date yet, their special showcase will reportedly concentrate exclusively on Ghost of Yōtei's "refined gameplay systems, including navigation, battle mechanics, and additional elements."
Sucker Punch officially revealed their Ghost of Tsushima follow-up last September, introducing players to new protagonist Atsu's violent pilgrimage through 1603 Japan. While fans eagerly awaiting sequel details since the 2020 original's release have endured a lengthy information drought, creative director Nate Fox assures the experience will maintain "an authentic portrayal" of Japanese culture comparable to its predecessor.
