One of the most delightful aspects of social interaction in Final Fantasy XIV is the wide array of character emotes that players can use to engage with one another. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to acquire the Photograph emote in Final Fantasy XIV.

As part of an exciting collaboration with Fujifilm’s Instax, Final Fantasy XIV's Patch 7.18 introduces a unique new emote for all players, available at no cost. The "Photograph" emote adds a charming touch, allowing you to simulate taking photos anywhere in Eorzea.

Unlike many other emotes in the game, which are often locked behind quest completions (like the quirky "Pose of the Unbound" emote) or require a purchase, the "Photograph" emote is automatically added to your Emote menu upon logging in after the patch update.

To access this emote, simply ensure you have downloaded the latest patch update. There are no level or expansion purchase requirements to enjoy this delightful addition.

To use the Photograph emote, navigate to your Emote menu under the "Social" tab, and locate the "Photograph" emote near the bottom of the list under the "General" tab. Select it, and your character will mimic taking a photo with a Fujifilm-style camera, capturing a Polaroid moment. If you plan to use it frequently, consider adding it to your Favorites for easy access.

Although the Photograph emote is a standard, non-continuous action and not ideal for "AFK" scenarios, its versatility shines through as you can use it in various settings, such as underwater in the Ruby Sea or while mounted on a grounded or flying mount.

This emote can lead to some creative, Inception-inspired poses with your characters. Patch 7.18 serves as a prelude to the more substantial Patch 7.2, set to release in late March, which promises new dungeons, a return to the Arcadion, Cosmic Exploration, and more.
