Introducing Edge Game Assist: The Browser that Levels Up Your Gameplay

Microsoft Edge introduces Game Assist, a revolutionary in-game browser designed to enhance your PC gaming experience. This innovative tool eliminates the need to alt-tab out of your game, streamlining access to information and communication.

A Game-Aware Browser Experience

Edge Game Assist, currently in preview, addresses the common frustration of PC gamers who frequently need to access browsers for help, guides, music, or chat. Microsoft's research indicates that a significant percentage of players utilize browsers while gaming, often requiring them to interrupt their gameplay. Game Assist solves this by providing a browser overlay accessible through the Game Bar, maintaining a seamless gaming experience.

This in-game browser offers a fully integrated experience, sharing your browsing data (favorites, history, cookies, autofill) with your main Edge profile. No need for repeated logins!

A key feature is the "game-aware" tab page, intelligently suggesting relevant guides and tips for the game you're currently playing. This eliminates the need for manual searches, making it easier to access helpful information. The tab can even be pinned for real-time access to guides.

Currently Supported Games (Beta)

While still in beta, Game Assist currently supports a selection of popular titles, including:

  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Diablo IV
  • Fortnite
  • Hellblade II: Senua's Saga
  • League of Legends
  • Minecraft
  • Overwatch 2
  • Roblox
  • Valorant

Microsoft assures users that support for additional games will be added continuously.

Getting Started

To experience Edge Game Assist, download the Edge Beta or Preview version, set it as your default browser, and then navigate to Settings within Edge to locate and install the Game Assist widget. Enjoy a smoother, more integrated gaming experience!
