Limbus Company: Effective Strategies to Level Up Sinners

In Limbus Company, the level of your Sinners is crucial in determining their combat effectiveness. Just like in other RPGs, leveling up your team is essential for tackling challenging content and making progress. Even the most powerful Sinner Identities won't stand a chance against enemies if they're underleveled. For newcomers to the game, here's a concise guide on the best ways to earn XP for your characters.

With games like Ananta and Neverness To Everness on the horizon, there's a growing desire for stylish anime games that aren't based on gacha mechanics. While HoYoVerse games satisfy the gacha craving, a triple-A experience similar to these games but free from RNG monetization would be a welcome addition to the genre.

Combat and Grinding --------------------

For new players, combat is the primary way to earn XP. All Sinners on your team gain XP after successfully clearing a combat encounter, though those who actively participated in the fight earn more XP than those who didn't. However, like many other free-to-play gacha games, this method can be slow, and as battles become tougher, you'll need to find more efficient ways to level up.

Once you reach the midpoint of Canto 2, you'll unlock Luxcavation mode, allowing you to challenge specific enemies for various rewards. These fights provide a decent amount of XP, but more importantly, they offer consumable items that are invaluable for leveling up.

Using Consumable Items

If you're looking to avoid the grind of manually earning XP, you can use Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets. These consumable items are specifically designed to help level up your characters and come in different rarities.

Identity Training Tickets

Identity Training Tickets provide a flat amount of XP to an Identity. They serve as level-up materials similar to those found in other gacha games like Honkai Star Rail or Genshin Impact. While they significantly reduce the XP grind, you'll need a substantial number of these tickets to fully level a single character. They are available in four tiers, each offering more XP than the previous:

  • Identity Training Ticket I: 50 Identity XP
  • Identity Training Ticket II: 200 Identity XP
  • Identity Training Ticket III: 1000 Identity XP
  • Identity Training Ticket IV: 3000 Identity XP

These tickets can be primarily obtained by farming the EXP Luxcavation stages, as well as from the free and paid Limbus Passes and periodic attendance check events.

Level Boost Tickets

Level Boost Tickets instantly elevate your Sinners' Identities to a specific level, bypassing the need for XP. These are far more valuable than Identity Training Tickets due to their ability to act as leveling shortcuts, but they are also much rarer. They are mainly acquired through the Limbus Pass and occasionally during attendance check events. Unlike training tickets, they cannot be farmed. Different Level Boost Tickets will raise your characters to the following levels:

  • Level Boost Ticket I: Level 10
  • Level Boost Ticket II: Level 20
  • Level Boost Ticket III: Level 30
  • Level Boost Ticket IV: Level 40

As of the latest update, Identities can reach a maximum level of 50. It's advisable to strategically balance the use of Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets when leveling multiple characters simultaneously.

To use these consumables, navigate to the Sinners menu and long-press the portrait of the character you wish to level up.
