Marvel Rivals Bug Impairs Gameplay for Players with Suboptimal FPS

A Reddit user uncovered a game-breaking bug in Marvel Rivals that unfairly disadvantages players with less powerful computers. The problem? Low FPS (frames per second) directly impacts several heroes, causing them to move slower and inflict less damage. Given Marvel Rivals' demanding system requirements, this effectively transforms the game into a "pay-to-win" scenario, where the cost of victory isn't in-game purchases, but upgraded PC hardware.

This is clearly a significant bug, not an intended game mechanic. However, a swift fix isn't likely. The core issue stems from the Delta Time parameter – a crucial element in game development that ensures consistent gameplay regardless of frame rate. Resolving this complex problem will require considerable developer time and effort.

The following Marvel Rivals heroes are currently affected:

  • Doctor Strange
  • Wolverine
  • Venom
  • Magik
  • Star-Lord

These characters exhibit reduced movement speed, lower jump heights, and diminished damage output. Other heroes may also be impacted. Until a patch is released, the best workaround is to optimize your in-game settings to improve FPS, even if it means compromising visual fidelity.
