Marvel Rivals finally has cheaters

Marvel Rivals: A Winning Formula, Marred by Cheaters?

The recently launched Marvel Rivals, dubbed by some as an "Overwatch killer," has seen impressive success on Steam, boasting a peak concurrent player count exceeding 444,000 on its first day. However, this triumph is overshadowed by a growing concern: the rise of cheaters.

Reports indicate a surge in players employing cheats to gain unfair advantages, including features like instant auto-targeting, wall-hacking, and one-hit kills. While the community acknowledges NetEase Games' efforts to detect and address cheating through in-game systems, the problem persists.

Despite the cheating issue, many players find the game enjoyable and praise its less demanding monetization compared to competitors. A key factor contributing to positive player sentiment is the non-expiring nature of battle passes. This eliminates the pressure of needing to constantly grind, a significant departure from many other shooters.

Performance optimization, however, remains a point of contention. Users with mid-range graphics cards, such as the Nvidia GeForce 3050, report noticeable frame rate drops. This performance issue could impact the overall player experience for some. Despite this drawback, the game's engaging gameplay and fair monetization strategy appear to be mitigating the negative impact.
