Marvel Rivals: Top Assist Strategies & Character Picks

Author : Patrick Mar 14,2025

In the typically self-centered world of hero shooters, *Marvel Rivals* throws a curveball: challenges that reward assists. But racking up those assists isn't as straightforward as it sounds. This guide breaks down how to get assists and highlights the best characters to help you dominate the support game.

How to Get Assists in Marvel Rivals

While the kill/death stats are readily apparent in *Marvel Rivals*, assists are a bit more nuanced. Simply dealing damage doesn't count. Assists are earned by directly supporting your teammates. This means healing them, shielding them, or incapacitating enemies to set up an ally for the finishing blow.

This system inherently favors healers and tanks. If you're a damage-focused player, you'll need to adjust your strategy to complete assist-based challenges. Luckily, certain characters excel at racking up assists.

Jeff the Land Shark

While not the most potent strategist, Jeff's bubbles and stream provide significant healing flexibility, boosting teammate survivability and thus, their assist opportunities.

Mantis

Mantis reigns supreme as the best support character for assists. Her healing abilities combined with Spore Slumber (which incapacitates enemies) create a perfect storm for setting up teammates for kills.

Peni Parker

For those who prefer tanking, Peni Parker is a strong choice. Her Cyber-Web Snare immobilizes enemies, making them easy targets for damage dealers—and providing you with valuable assists.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange's powerful shield is a lifesaver for allies, keeping them in the fight and contributing to your assist count. A reliable tank option for maximizing support.

Storm

Among Duelists, Storm stands out. Her Weather Control ability enhances ally damage and speed, significantly increasing their kill potential and, consequently, your assist count.

Mastering the art of assists in *Marvel Rivals* opens up new strategic avenues and unlocks challenge completion. Now go forth and support your way to victory!

*Marvel Rivals is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.*
