"Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide"

Author : Emery Mar 31,2025

In the thrilling world of *Phasmophobia*, hunting down the most elusive ghosts often requires using special Cursed Possessions, which come with both risks and rewards. The Haunted Mirror stands out as one of the most useful tools, but if you're hesitant about using it, let's dive into how it works and why it's worth considering.

How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is widely regarded as the safest Cursed Object in *Phasmophobia*. Its benefits significantly outweigh the risks, making it a valuable asset during your ghost-hunting expeditions. This item has consistently remained unchanged through various game updates, and if you encounter it during your investigation, it's highly recommended to utilize it.

The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map. If you're well-acquainted with the map's layout, this feature can help you locate the ghost quickly, allowing you to set up your equipment before things get too dangerous.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as in 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. Cursed Objects always spawn in the same location on a map, though the specific object that appears is randomized.

To use the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to interact with it and hold it up. The reflection will show you a view of the ghost's current favorite room. Keep in mind that on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost can move to a different area after some time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the Haunted Mirror for too long, as it drains your sanity. If you hold it up for the entire duration, the mirror will shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your current location. Therefore, use it when your sanity is high and quickly understand what you're seeing in the reflection.

Cursed Possessions, often referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that randomly spawn on any map, depending on difficulty settings or if you're tackling Challenge Mode.

Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects serve as shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a much higher risk to your character. Some are safer to use than others, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to employ them. There's no penalty for choosing not to use them, and only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless you modify this in Custom settings.

There are seven different Cursed Objects available in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw

That wraps up how to use the Haunted Mirror in *Phasmophobia*. For more insights and the latest updates on *Phasmophobia*, including the 2025 Roadmap & Preview, be sure to visit The Escapist.
