Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in acclaimed series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, due to her recent statements against the transgender community.
The controversy escalated after Rowling expressed her support for a UK Supreme Court decision that legally defines "woman" as "a biological woman and biological sex," impacting the Equality Act by excluding transgender women from its protections. In response, Rowling shared a celebratory image on Twitter/X, showing herself enjoying a cigar and a drink by the ocean, captioned with, "I love it when a plan comes together," a nod to her financial support of the group For Scotland Women, which was involved in the lawsuit.

The situation intensified when writer and activist Tariq Raouf posted a video on April 17, condemning Rowling's actions as "serious Voldemort villain sht" and calling for a boycott of Harry Potter-related content. In the comments section of this video, Pascal responded strongly, labeling Rowling's behavior as "Awful disgusting SHT" and "Heinous LOSER behavior."
Pascal's advocacy for the transgender community extends beyond this incident. He has previously voiced his support by stating, “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist," accompanying a photo of a sign that read, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will." Additionally, at the premiere of Thunderbolts in London, he wore a shirt emblazoned with "Protect the dolls," a term used within the LGBTQIA+ community to refer to trans women.
His personal connection to the issue is deeply rooted, as his sister, Lux Pascal, publicly came out as a trans woman in 2021. Pedro Pascal celebrated her announcement with a heartfelt message, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," translating to "My sister, my heart, our Lux," showcasing his unwavering support for her and the broader transgender community.
