Pokémon Go Tests Go Pass in Select Regions

Author : Zoe May 21,2025

Exciting news for Pokémon Go enthusiasts: a new feature, the Go Pass, is currently being tested in select regions. This innovative system, inspired by the success of the Tour Pass during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova, is set to enhance your gameplay with new ways to earn rewards. If you're in one of the eligible areas, you can dive into the Go Pass: April event from April 1st to May 6th and snag yourself a variety of enticing goodies.

In the world of mobile gaming, battle passes are becoming increasingly popular, and Pokémon Go is joining the trend with the Go Pass. During the event, you'll have the opportunity to accumulate Go Points, which will help you level up your pass and unlock a range of rewards. These include encounters with the legendary Pokémon Xerneas, as well as essential items like Stardust, XP, and Poké Balls.

The Go Pass comes in two tiers: a free version and the Go Pass Deluxe. The free tier offers a solid set of rewards, but if you're aiming for something more substantial, the Deluxe version is your go-to. It features premium rewards such as a Lucky Trinket, Candy XL, and a selection of useful items including Incubators and Lure Modules. You can upgrade to the Deluxe tier at any time and even retroactively claim rewards from previously unlocked ranks.

As you progress through the Go Pass, you'll hit Major Milestones that unlock additional perks. Reaching Tier one extends the duration of your Daily Adventure Incense, Tier two boosts the XP and Stardust you earn from Research Breakthroughs, and Tier three amplifies the Stardust and XP you get from hatching Eggs. The final Deluxe reward is another Lucky Trinket, which guarantees a Lucky Friend encounter.

Keep in mind that since the Go Pass is still in its testing phase, rewards and structures might differ across regions. Some areas could experience unique encounters, adjusted item rewards, or even earn PokéCoins at certain ranks. These variations are crucial for Niantic to refine the system before its global rollout.

If you're lucky enough to be in an eligible region, this is your golden opportunity to test the Go Pass before its worldwide launch. Be sure to claim all your earned rewards by May 8th, and remember to use your Lucky Trinket before it expires on May 11th!
