The TV adaptation of *The Last of Us* has been a massive hit, with Season 3 confirmed even before Season 2 aired. Now, fans are buzzing with the possibility of a Season 4. Showrunner Craig Mazin has made it clear that a fourth season is practically necessary to fully tell the story derived from the two acclaimed video games by Naughty Dog.
In an interview with Collider, Mazin explained that cramming the entire narrative into Season 3 would stretch it out indefinitely. He mentioned that while Season 3 might be longer than Season 2, it's simply impossible to wrap up the story in just three seasons. Mazin expressed hope that the series would continue to captivate audiences, stating, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
